Student Leaders

At Alfred Street Juniors we believe in the importance of student leadership. It is an honour and a responsibility open to all. Children write job applications to apply and include the qualities they feel are important for the role;  for example: fairness, trustworthiness, respect, kindness and setting a good example for the rest of the school. There were a range of jobs available for pupils to choose from at the beginning of term, including:

PE Equipment Managers whose responsibility it is to get out the games equipment at lunchtime and make sure it is packed away tidily.

Food Technicians who run our Healthy Tuck Shop. They prepare the fruit and vegetables and sell it every break time.

Play Leaders who work hard to make our lunch times as enjoyable as possible. They support our team of lunchtime supervisors by organising team games and looking out for any children who may be in need of a friend.

Journalists work hard each half term to write the Alfo Gazette; our popular school newsletter. Our Fundraisers work alongside the journalists and support our charity events.

The ICT Technicians manage the sound system in assemblies and help to keep the ICT suite tidy.

Pupils take their roles very seriously and are identified by their Student Leader badges and hi-vis jackets.
